Burkburnett kicks off homecoming weekend [Video]

BURKBURNETT, Texas (KAUZ) – The community of Burkburnett gathered downtown for their annual homecoming parade on Wednesday.

The parade started at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 and concluded at Friendship Park around 7 p.m.

Heather McClain, a Burkburnett mother of four, spoke on what she loves most about this hometown event.

“I love watching all of my kids be in it. I have a sixteen-year-old, a fourteen-year-old, a nine-year-old, and a seven-year-old. So it’s fun to watch all of them be a part of the community and everybody coming together. It starts at six but chairs [were] set up before five, so I think that speaks volumes,” McClain said.

After the parade family night began, entertainment was provided by students from all campuses at the park amphitheater. For the night’s festivities, free hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy were provided to everyone in attendance.
