Bullard ISD honored for storm response, community aid [Video]

BULLARD, Texas (KETK) – Bullard ISD was awarded with the Smith County Hero Award on Wednesday because of their efforts in helping the community following severe storms.

According to a release from Smith County, Bullard Intermediate School opened on June 4 as a shelter with Red Cross and Smith County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and remained open for several days.

According to Smith County, Emergency Management Coordinator Brandon Moore, and County Judge Neal Franklin recognized staff from Bullard ISD.

Bullard ISD Superintendent Jack Lee said that they were happy to help their community.
