Buc-ee’s first responders day today [Video]

Buc-ee’s hosted a first responders day today to allow some patrons a first look at the new Smiths Grove location. The grand opening is Monday.

Police identified the suspected shooter as 44-year-old Travis Eugene Posey of New Edinburg. He was taken to jail and charged with three counts of capital murder, while other charges are still pending.

Built in 1872, The Old Franklin Grade and Highschool is located in the first African American community in Simpson County and is one of the last buildings standing from that era.

Their hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The school will receive the resources necessary to support new STEM and art classes, including performing arts, agriculture, 3-D printing and coding.
