Brisbane residents claim they have been left high and dry in the aftermath of flash flooding at the weekend.
A large clean-up is facing community members such as the Saha family, who has lived in their West End home for 12 years.
The home has flooded several times since the family has lived there but this is the worst event yet.
“This is the highest the waters ever got into our house, it was almost up to my knees,” Upama Saha said.
The flash flooding also left behind a bigger clean-up job than ever before for the family and their neighbours.
A children’s cubby house, sofa and washing machine are among items destroyed on their street.
However residents said unlike other flood events, Brisbane City Council hasn’t automatically offered kerbside pick-up.
