SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The 30th annual season of Bright Nights at Forest Park in Springfield officially kicked off Wednesday night.
Several local leaders were in attendance for the celebration, including one very special visitor from the North Pole. “Light the lights!” Santa Claus said.
On Wednesday, community members gathered together to celebrate the annual event. Over 750,000 lights will be on display through out the park. “It’s one of the best lighting shows in America,” noted Judy Matt, President of the Spirit of Springfield.
Not only can guests drive through the park and see the unique displays, but they can also pull over and take a stop at Santa’s magical forest. “It’s beautiful lots of lights lots of things to do for the kids we have a carousal we have cotton candy hot chocolate it’s just a magical moment,” added Springfield City Councilor, Victor Davila.
