Brian Head Ski Resort plans second-earliest opening date ever [Video]

BRIAN HEAD, Utah — Brian Head Ski Resort plans to open its slopes on Nov. 8, 2024. If that happens it will be the second-earliest seasonal opening in the resort’s history. 

“With our snowmaking team’s hard work and Mother Nature’s cooperation, we hope to open as early as possible and close as late as possible,” said Tom Pettigrew, the general manager at Brian Head Resort. 

Brian Head Ski Resort celebrates 60 years

This season will mark the southern Utah resort’s 60th year in operation, the press release said. 

The resort began with the installation of the first chairlift and T-bar lift. Its grand opening was on Jan. 7, 1965. 

In the past six decades, the resort claims to have become “Southern Utah’s premier ski resort.” It has 650 acres of terrain, which is served by eight lifts. 

The resort said it will celebrate its anniversary during the week of Jan. 7, 2025.
