BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Brentwood police chief will represent the United States in Turin’s 2025 Special Olympics World Games.
The police chief will participate in the Final Leg Torch Run, which is not only a salute to athletes from around the world who compete in the Special Olympics World Winter Games, but also for law enforcement officers.

“Being selected to participate in the Final Leg Torch Run for Special Olympics World Games in Italy is truly the ultimate honor,” Richard Hickey said in a press release. “When I think about being able to represent law enforcement officers from all over the world and the athletes who compete in these games, I’m sure I just checked off a box on my bucket list.
During the event, Hickey and eight other Final Leg participants will carry the Flame of Hope through eight cities.
