BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – The Barren River Area Safe Space’s candlelight vigil is an annual event held by the group to honor those who have lost their life to domestic violence.
Though this event is usually held at BRASS’s memorial garden, Thursday it was brought to Circus Square Park to encourage community involvement and engagement.
“We are a nonprofit. We strive to have not only the support for what we do, but the support for the clients that come into our services that are going to need the community to support them,” said BRASS Director of Community Service Alicia Martin. “They have barriers that they face, and it’s community members and community partners that help them reduce those barriers so they can get into a safer place and maintain that safety.”
