MIDDLEBURY, CT (WFSB) – The Brass City Rescue Alliance waived adoption fees for dogs in order to help more furry friends find a forever home.
Brass City Rescue and other animal shelter across the state are filling up quickly.
A Connecticut animal advocacy group, Desmond‘s Army, said it is hard to find a shelter that is not full.
“I would say that Connecticut is in an epidemic with just an overflow of homeless, abandoned, and neglected animals,” said Linda Pleva, Vice President of Desmond’s Army
The Brass City Rescue Alliance in Middlebury is at capacity with about a dozen dogs looking for homes.
The shelter is working to solve this crowding problem by waiving all adoption fees until November 10.
“It’s just more to raise awareness of what dogs we have available to give them publicity,” Pleva said.
One dog, Taylor, has been at the kennel for over a year.
