Two 12-year-old boys have been interviewed after a shocking video reportedly captured yobs ‘playing football’ with a hedgehog.
The video was uploaded to social media last week and appears to show the youths kicking the hedgehog on Erskine Road, in the Owton Manor area of Hartlepool. The footage was captured at 9.52pm on Monday, July 22, and involves three males.
Cleveland Police previously told Teesside Live enquiries were ongoing but has now confirmed two youths have been interviewed. A force spokesperson said: “On Monday 29th July, two twelve-year-old boys were interviewed voluntarily in relation to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
