Body found in Colfax County identified as Nebraskan [Video]

A body found in rural Colfax County last week has been identified as Nathan Johnson, 30, of Butler County, according to a Wednesday press release from the City of Columbus.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office said in a Nov. 19 Facebook post that Johnson had been missing since late October. Johnson’s family hadn’t heard from him since Oct. 28.

On Dec. 11 the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body — now known to be Johnson — found near the 1,200 mile of County Road C.

Johnson’s next of kin have been notified. Authorites are awaiting autopsy results, the Columbus Police Department said.

The Colfax County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Police Department, Platte County Sheriff’s Office, Butler County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol are assisting with the investigation.
