SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State Bobcats tied with the Arkansas State Red Wolves with a score of 2-2 after a successful penalty made by Sydney Bassa, a freshman forward, in the second half.
Sophomore midfielder, Kaylie Smith, put the Bobcats up early in the match before Arkansas State took a 2-1 lead heading into the half with a goal minutes before halftime.
Head Coach Steve Holeman gave his thoughts on the match in his post-game press conference.
“I thought it was a pretty good game. I thought both teams scored on a set-piece, and we knew set-pieces were going to be really important in this game,” Holeman said.
Nevertheless, Holeman expressed that he is not satisfied with a tie and spoke on matters not on the pitch affecting the game.
