Board votes to move forward with plans for Buc-ees in Palmer Lake [Video]

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – Another public meeting was held on Thursday to discuss the controversial plans of building a Buc-ee’s in Palmer Lake.

The Palmer Lake Board of Trustees voted to move forward with plans for a Buc-ee’s in Palmer Lake.

This means the board decided the land is eligible for annexation in a vote of four to one. As of Thursday, the land has not yet been annexed, but the board can move forward with plans to do so.

Community members had mixed opinions during Thursday’s meeting, but a majority of those who shared their opinions said they did not want to see a Buc-ee’s in Palmer Lake.

Buc-ee’s has been considering an area near County Line Road and I-25 as the newest potential location. The store was proposed to be 74,000 square feet.
