HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) introduced an act that would strengthen the fight against child predators online.

The “Renewed Hope Act” would dedicate more resources to identifying, rescuing and protecting victims of online child sexual exploitation by increasing resources to hire and train more experts for the child exploitations unit.

“Grooming, false promises, manipulation are all seen,” Blumenthal said. “We’re also seeing sextoration via the internet, where children are manipulated into sending graphic photos of themselves to others.”

Experts urge all parents to talk to their kids and remind them of online dangers.
