Blues trade Kevin Hayes to Penguins [Video]

LAS VEGAS — The St. Louis Blues have traded forward Kevin Hayes to the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to a press release statement. 

The 32-year-old was traded along with a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft on Saturday. St. Louis will receive future considerations from Pittsburgh.

Hayes came to St. Louis last year in a trade from the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers retained 50% of Hayes’ contract in exchange for a sixth-round pick in this year’s draft. 

During the 2023-2024 season, he played 79 games for the Blues, recording 29 points (13 goals and 16 assists). 

Hayes was originally drafted 24th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. He never played with the team and signed a contract with the New York Rangers in 2014. He played five seasons in …
