Customers have until Thanksgiving to enjoy a hearty breakfast or catch a musical dinner show at Charlottesville’s Blue Moon Diner.
The owners of the West Main Street mainstay announced Tuesday they will be closing the casual eatery after 17 years, bringing an end to their mission to “do good really, really well.”
“We have loved our time getting to serve you all, and getting to know you better as humans and incredibly interesting contributors to our community,” diner co-owner Laura Galgano posted on Facebook. “It’s been an incredible experience, and one we would not trade for anything.”
Galgano runs Blue Moon alongside Rice Hall.
Many in the community are already lamenting the loss of the diner which also functioned as a popular live music venue. Over the years, Galgano and Hall frequently hosted bands, album release parties and was even a few movie and music video productions.
