Blennerhassett Hotel named as a destination on W.Va. Paranormal Trail [Video]

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The W.Va. Paranormal Trail was created this month to highlight the various landmarks in the state.

The Blennerhassett Hotel, here in Parkersburg, is one of the 14 destinations featured on the trail.

Lauren Bodnar, Director of Public Relations for W.Va. Tourism, said the trail has received lots of positive feedback.

The Blennerhassett Hotel was founded in 1889 by William Nelson Chancellor as a luxury hotel for oil and gas businessmen. The hotel has a rich history spanning from withstanding natural disasters to famous celebrities like former president John F. Kennedy.

Adra Johnson, the Haunted Blennerhassett Founder, said there are many ghost stories about the hotel.

Along with the Blennerhassett Hotel, a few of the destinations include the Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant and the W.Va. Penitentiary in Moundsville. The trail is not just a fun to partake in, it can also encourage out-of-state visitors to see …
