Blankets, volunteers needed for St. Louis’ homeless [Video]

Advocate groups in the city said up to 500 people could be out in the cold without a place to stay through the nights.

ST. LOUIS — A coalition of homeless shelters and advocate groups in St. Louis City are asking the community for more help as cold temperatures are expected to continue.

Thursday morning, Teka Childress with Gateway Housing First said an estimated 300-500 people could be out in the cold without a place to stay through the nights.

Clean blankets and needed supplies can be donated to the St. Louis Winter Outreach by dropping them off at AmeriCorps at 1315 Ann Avenue, St. Louis MO 63104.

Donations should be made during the week from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. except for Thursdays.

Other drop-offs can be arranged by emailing stlwinteroutreach314@gmail.com.
