Blake Shelton is parting ways with his record label after a whopping 20-year run with the company.
Shelton announced he’s stepping away from Warner Music Nashville after his two-decade collaboration in a statement on Tuesday, September 3. The country music star thanked both Warner and Giant Records, which was his initial label when he released his debut single, “Austin,” way back in 2001.
“I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal. Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some,” the 48-year-old stated about his humble beginnings. “It’s impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records and Warner Music Nashville staff and family,” he concluded his statement.
