One scene that’s getting a lot of attention is her (apparent) shade against New York Post reporter Andrea Peyser, who covered Stewart’s 2004 securities fraud trial.
“New York Post lady was there just looking so smug. She had written horrible things during the entire trial. But she is dead now, thank goodness,” Martha says in the film.
In a wild plot twist, it turns out Peyser is actually not dead. She replied to the culinary icon in a column for the New York Post, which featured the headline, “Hey Martha Stewart, you gloated about the death of a Post columnist — but I’m alive, b***h!”
