MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Navigating the holiday season while dealing with grief can feel overwhelming. A special event in mobile aims to provide support and guidance.
Bishop State Community College’s Southwest Campus at 925 Dauphin Island Parkway will host a grief support session Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon to 2 p.m.
The session will offer participants a compassionate space to learn practical strategies to cope.
“A lot of times they’re just stuffing things. It’s almost like they’re putting it in a stocking hoping it’ll go away, or they’re telling themselves some unhealthy things, saying, like, I don’t want to think about it, or if I talk about it, it’ll make me sad. And so, they stuff it,” said local therapist Eunice Mingo. “And then, you know, anything buried alive never dies. So, you know, pressure busts pipes. So eventually everything that’s being stuffed kind of cause stress and anxiety and more depression.
