Bilingual class held for certified nurse aide training [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – On Saturday, the Springfield Technical Community College began offering bilingual classes teaching certified nurse aide training.

STCC created the Saturday class for participants looking to receive a CNA certificate, CPR certification, and HHA training certificate all from the same program.

Students learn to care for residents in long-term care facilities and practice the following skills: personal patient care, patient rights, lifting and turning patients, safety, infection control, bed, bath and feeding, vital signs, record keeping, mental health care of residents and stress management.

The class will take place most Saturdays until February 22nd.
