The White House said Biden’s approval will allow the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief and emergency efforts for the storm.
TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. President Joe Biden has approved Florida’s Emergency Declaration as Hurricane Milton prepares to make landfall in the state on Wednesday, according to a press release from the White House.
Biden’s approval will allow the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief and emergency efforts for those affected by the hurricane. It will also supplement state, tribal and local response efforts, according to the White House.
Emergency protective measures and direct Federal assistance will be provided at 75 percent Federal funding for the following counties:
Tampa Bay area counties:

- Hernando
- Hillsborough
- Manatee
- Paco
- Pinellas
- Polk
- Sarasota
Other Florida counties:
- Brevard
- Broward
- Charlotte
- Collier
- Desoto
