Recently, the district earned the Economic Development Partnership designation from the Macon-Bibb County Industry Authority for its local partnerships.
BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — When students reach high school, they often start thinking about their next steps after graduation.
The cohort started training last August, and Dean graduated from Southwest High School this May.
“It’s still clicking to me that it’s finally happening,” Dean said. “It’s real to me, you know, getting ready to start a career that I’ve decided that I want to do.”
He said the training introduced him to putting out fires in the burn house, climbing ladders and search and rescue.
“It wasn’t the easiest, but it was good for me,” Dean said. “It was something I needed, and I know I’m going to be ready for when it’s my time.”
