BGSU student group considers snow, security for New Orleans Super Bowl trip [Video]

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — The Super Bowl is the biggest American sporting event of the year, and about two dozen students and advisors from Bowling Green State University’s Sports Management Alliance are going to the game.

The groups won’t just be going just for fun, though. They’ll work in different events in the week leading up to the game in New Orleans and learn firsthand how a major event like it happens.

“I think this is an amazing opportunity,” said junior Katie Schmitz.

Most years, the Super Bowl is in a warm climate, and that’s typically true of New Orleans, which has played host to it 11 times including this year. But this week’s historic snow has the group double-checking the weather app.
