Beyond Our Walls, Jenkins Youth and Family Village team up for educational camp [Video]

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Students in the Lowcountry will be heading back to school soon, but two organizations have been working nonstop to make sure kids have continued learning throughout the summer.

Friday is the final day of a special summer camp hosted by Beyond Our Walls and Jenkins Youth and Family Village. The six-week-long experience brought endless educational opportunities to campers.

This is the first official year of the camp that has come out of the partnership between Beyond Our Walls, a nonprofit that provides after-school programs and summer learning programs, and Jenkins Youth and Family Village, previously known as the Jenkins Orphanage.

The focus is on giving children in the community and those with limited resources access to cultural and educational opportunities, and through the partnership, kids of all ages came to the 55 acres at Jenkins to have a safe place to learn.
