Beverly, Massachusetts, teachers strike for better wages and smaller class sizes [Video]

MATT. WELL, JESSICA, THE TEACHERS SAY THEY’VE REACHED SOME TENTATIVE AGREEMENTS WITH SCHOOL OFFICIALS, BUT THAT THEY HAVE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO TO GET A CONTRACT THAT WILL GET THESE EDUCATORS BACK IN THE CLASSROOM. WHAT’S OUTRAGEOUS IS AN ARRAY OF EMOTIONS IN BEVERLY THIS MORNING. WHAT DO WE WANT, A FAIR CONTRACT. WHAT DO WE WANT IT NOW? EDUCATORS OFFICIALLY ON STRIKE AND UNSURE WHEN THEY WILL RETURN TO SCHOOL. WE FEEL LIKE WE CAN WORK WITH THEM ON A FEW THINGS, BUT WE STILL FEEL LIKE WE’RE FAR OFF ON ON A LOT OF THE MAJOR ISSUES, JUST LIKE THEIR NEIGHBORS TO THE NORTH IN GLOUCESTER, WHO ALSO VOTED TO STRIKE LAST NIGHT.
