CORVALLIS, Ore. — Some services were partially restored in Benton County as workers continued their strike for higher wages and better support from the county. Workers with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees of Benton County rallied outside both the Kalapuya Building and the Linn-Benton Community College building where negotiations have been taking place.
For five days, the union employees have picketed against the county with those participating coming from different county services including Physician Assistants to Behavioral Health Specialists. Sarah Siddiqui is one of the bargaining team members for the AFSCME who has been negotiating with the county. Siddiqui said they are still awaiting a definitive answer from the county.
