Beloved Donk Donk statue returns to Olathe after June vandal attack [Video]

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – After being broken and lit on fire earlier this year, an adored donkey statue has returned to its Olathe home.

“While I am out there painting him everybody honks,” said Louise, the woman behind the statue. “They wave. I’ve had a number of people stop their cars to come out and talk to me and say how much Donk Donk means to them.”

When KCTV5 last spoke to Louise in June, she didn’t know if Donk Donk was going to return. Despite the two who vandalized him not being identified yet, an outpouring of support from the community and beyond led Louise to know he had to be fixed.
