Beeville PD hand out turkeys, not tickets Wednesday [Video]

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was a sight that would bring pause to even the most intrepid: police units rolling down your street and eventually stopping in front of your house.

But it was not a cause for concern, on Wednesday officers cruised neighborhoods to distribute turkeys to residents before the Thanksgiving holiday!

Police Chief Kevin Behr told 3NEWS the department was given a grant by the Joe Barnhart Foundation to help with community engagement.

And what better way to engage with your community, than to give back to them during the holidays?

Behr said the motive behind the distribution was a simple one; to make residents smile.
