CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A number of agencies are on the move in Bee County as a new $3 million emergency management headquarters is opening right behind the expo center. The agency was located next to the district attorney’s office.
Now, the two-man operation will be joined by a Texas Department of Emergency Management liaison worker, an environmental enforcement officer, and a community affairs director.
3NEWS asked Emergency Management Coordinator Ryan Garza why they placed everyone behind the expo center.
“When COVID-19 hit we were utilizing these grounds for the vaccinations and testing, so this location made sense to have this facility if we did have a disaster or we did have another pandemic that were to occur,” he said. “Our building is here, we are able to service the …
