I have to admit, it is still kind of weird seeing Karl-Anthony Towns in a New York Knicks jersey (especially the odd, pseudo-3D City Edition), but he seems to be making the most of it. After Monday’s 24-point, 12-rebound performance, Towns ranks 3rd in the league with 11 total double-doubles. For context, the Knicks have only played 14 games and Towns has only played in 13.
The Knicks traded for the long-coveted big man in exchange for Julius Randle, the same guy who hit a buzzer-beater to win the Timberwolves a game on Sunday. Thus far, it seems to be working out for both sides. Randle is finding a groove in Minnesota and Towns has the Knickerbockers in 4th place in the East.
The Knicks beat up the Washington Wizards Monday, 134-106. Towns’ 24 points included three triples, the same number of assists he had, and the same number of minutes Jacob Toppinplayed. Best of luck to Towns …
