BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Local civic leaders have reached the next step in revitalizing downtown Baton Rouge.
Community champions, the City of Baton Rouge/Parish of East Baton Rouge, Downtown Development District, Visit Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Area Chamber, and Baton Rouge Area Foundation have come together to sponsor Plan Baton Rouge III, an update to downtown’s master planning efforts.
Plan Baton Rouge III will focus on creating new housing opportunities, enhancing the riverfront and improving infrastructure and connectivity.
According to a news release from BRAF, the plan will attract new restaurants and businesses and highlight the downtown area’s unique arts and culture.
The Request for Proposals for a Downtown Baton Rouge Master Plan seeks proposals from a multidisciplinary consultant team. It must have experience in community planning, placemaking and development. It must also have skills in outreach, engagement and economic analysis.
