Baton Rouge group to award people, organizations contributing to education [Video]

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge group will be celebrating champions in education who have made a difference in the community.

The Thrive Foundation is hosting its Founders Day luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 5 at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge, located at 7000 Bluebonnet Boulevard.

Organizers said luncheon attendees will learn about the Thrive Foundation and award individuals and organizations for their contributions to education. Awards presented are the Sarah Broome Award, Home Bank Award and Community Partnership Award.

The foundation has a goal to raise a total of $150,000. Donations can be made online.
