BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The community in Bartlesville honored and remembered veterans by placing Christmas wreaths on the graves of service men and women at White Rose Cemetery.
“The big thing is for little children to remember to honor,” said White Rose Cemetery board member Donna Copeland. “We teach them about what has happened, that there are people [who] made not just the country and the state what it is, but the community.”
This weekend, millions across America laid wreaths on the graves of veterans for National Wreaths Across America Day.
The goal of the event is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and to teach children the value of freedom.
Cemeteries across Green Country participate in the event, including White Rose Cemetery in Bartlesville.
