Bangor seeks community input on downtown improvement plans [Video]

The city is asking the community for input on 13 recommendations aimed at improving pedestrian and traffic safety and access to transportation.

BANGOR, Maine — The City of Bangor is encouraging residents to get involved in shaping the future of downtown. 

They are asking the community for input on 13 recommendations aimed at improving pedestrian and traffic safety and access to transportation.

Currently, the city is in Phase 1 of the project, which includes gathering feedback from residents and planning the design for what those improvements would look like.

“They’re the end users of this so that includes residents, business owners, residents, visitors,” Jeff Davis, the director of engineering for the City of Bangor, said. “We want to make sure they’re heard and that it works for them.”

Davis said the mission of the initiative is to improve safety and the street design of downtown Bangor.
