Baggin For Apples: the family-friendly volunteer event hosted by the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is back [Video]

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is looking forward to inviting the community out to participate in their popular “Baggin’ for Apples” volunteer event.

The event, hosted at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada warehouse, is open to all ages including children as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers for the Food Bank generally are children ages 10 and older, who volunteer with their families. This event allows for even younger children to come and experience the joys of community service.

“Volunteering is really the heart of the Food Bank. We have more than 4,000 volunteers give us 24,000 hours of volunteer time. So without volunteers we simply could not do what we do so it is a great way to introduce some families to volunteering at the food bank”, shares Jocelyn Lantrip the director of marketing for the Food Bank.
