BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The “Back to Bartlesville” Fly-In wrapped up today after an exciting weekend of bringing together aviation enthusiasts and the Bartlesville community.
“The idea here is to promote general aviation, to have general aviation planes come into the event and expose it to the public. We just kind of recreate the event that happened here many years ago,” said Kevin Conner, who chairs the Fly-In committee.
Conner said this event brings “living history” back to the Bartlesville Municipal Airport.
“This event started back in the mid-80s as home of the national bi-plane association and that fly-in went on for roughly 22 years,” said Conner.
Once that event ended, there was no fly-in activity in Bartlesville until last year.
Conner explained he and the other committee members decided to come together and “bring the fly-in back to Bartlesville.”
