MADISON, Wis. (WSAW/WMTV) – Authorities have released new details about a shooting Monday morning at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison.
In a press conference at 8:30 p.m., Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes identified the suspected shooter as 15-year-old Natalie “Samantha” Rupnow. She died while being taken to an area hospital. The shooting happened around 11 a.m. in a classroom during a study hall session.
correction: NewsChannel 7 erroneously published an Associated Press announcement that the suspected shooter was a 17-year-old female student. The Madison PD has announced the suspect is 15.
He said a second-grade student was the one who dialed 911. Police arrived within four minutes.
