Arts Huntsville seeks submissions for new fitness court art project [Video]

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Arts Huntsville, in partnership with the City of Huntsville Parks & Recreation Department, has announced an opportunity for local artists to contribute to a new public art installation at the upcoming Hays Farm Park. 

The organization is seeking qualified artists to create artwork that will be featured on an Outdoor Fitness Court, combining public health infrastructure with community art.

The selected artwork will be transformed into a large vinyl wrap mural covering a 32′ x 35′ outdoor bodyweight training facility. The installation will serve as a backdrop for the park’s planned outdoor stage area, with officials encouraging submissions that feature dynamic, bold designs with pastoral or musical themes.

Project supervisors will select three finalists, each receiving a $250 sketch fee to produce site-specific proposals. The final selected artist will receive a $5,000 award from the National Fitness …
