Arson investigation underway at dance hall [Video]

An arson investigation is underway after a dance hall in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, was set ablaze.Around 2:20 p.m. Friday, Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue was alerted to a commercial structure fire at the Stompin’ Ground on Soco Road.Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire at the front of the building. Crews acted swiftly, extinguishing the flames with minimal extension into the building.Fire officials believe the fire was intentionally set.Maggie Valley officers have identified a person of interest, and authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.Maggie Valley Police Department is leading the investigation, working alongside the Haywood County Fire Marshal and state authorities.Jeff Benton, a lieutenant with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office, captured the video while he was on vacation in Maggie Valley.Benton told us the owners of the dance hall also lost their motel to an electrical fire last week.No other details …
