Arkansas Symphony Orchestra moves into the East Village District of Little Rock, boosting business [Video]

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra celebrated the grand opening of the Stella Boyle Smith Music Center on Saturday. The event helped to bring in hundreds of people to the East Village.

The $11.75 million, 20,000-square-foot facility in Little Rock will serve as a musical center for Arkansas, offering music education and performance opportunities.

“To me, the possibilities for our community are endless,” ASO CEO Christina Littlejohn said.

The music center aims to provide residents of all ages with access to music education, performances, and music-making. Currently, the age range is four to 104.

It also has a 300-seat performance hall, rehearsal spaces, teaching studios, and a broadcast and recording studio.

The project, named in honor of Stella Boyle Smith, was made possible by more than 200 donors.
