SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – Too Good To Go, a company focused on creating less food waste by partnering with companies to sell their surplus food at a steep discount, is now in the Kansas City area. Their app launched this week, with dozens of local businesses already on board.
“We have already signed more than 60 businesses across the state, and we’ve saved 8,000 meals and we’ve technically only been live in Missouri for 2 days,” said Sarah Soteroff, Too Good To Go’s Head of Public Relations for North America. “So, that’s a huge impact so far.”
Mr. D’s Donuts, a staple in the Shawnee community for decades, was one of the first companies to hop on board.
“We first stumbled upon Too Good To Go just scrolling through Instagram,” said co-owner Johnny Chen. “I reached out to them. We happened to be the second customer in the whole Kansas City area.”
