Another mosquito tests positive for West Nile in Kingsville [Video]

Just weeks ago the city announced the first mosquito that tested positive for the virus.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Kingsville has reported a second mosquito that tested positive for West Nile virus.

According to a press release, the mosquito was trapped on East Huisache Avenue near Brookshire Pool on Aug. 27.

No human cases have been reported.

The City will be spraying the area to help keep residents safe once weather permits.

City officials urge residents to follow mosquito prevention practices such as using mosquito repellant that contains DEET, avoiding outdoor activity at dawn and dusk as this is when mosquitoes are most active and ensuring there is no tall grass or standing water on your property.
