TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – 2024 is ending on a positive note for one group focused on the health of people living in west Alabama.
The Rural Alabama Prevention Center (RAPC) was started in 2014 to provide preventative care and management for people underserved in west Alabama when it came to healthcare.
More than 125 people registered for its sixth annual Wellness Conference where the RAPC looked back at overcoming some challenges of the past year.
The RAPC offers classes and educational materials to folks it helps, while also connecting people with others who can work directly with them. They partner with churches and community groups to work directly with people who need help managing their health.
WBRC learned its efforts to educate people really made a difference this year when it came to diabetes.
