MEAD, Wash. – Animals at Cat Tails Wildlife Refuge joined the holiday fun by opening gifts Sunday.
The event featured tigers and bears unwrapping their presents in front of an audience. Santa and Mrs. Clause also made an appearance, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The gift-opening was part of a free community day aimed at increasing interest in the non-profit. A spokesperson for Cat Tails said, “This year our goal is to wrap up our year-end giving with some funds in the bank so that we can work on developing a bigger space for our coyotes come spring.”
Cat Tails Wildlife Refuge has been operating for over 30 years. It provides homes to wild animals that were abandoned or lack the training to survive on their own.
