SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – Emotions ran high as workers, volunteers and a former veterinarian for Saginaw County Animal Care and Control spoke out against the facility’s new management.
For many speaking out at Tuesday’s meeting, it wasn’t the first time. People have been addressing issues for months they say can’t be swept under the rug.
“From the euthanasia to the treating animals medically to the fact that they can’t get supplies — even just trash bags — in the shelter. We have staff and volunteers having to supply their own trash bags,” said Allissa Specht, who runs an animal rescue in Saginaw County. “That’s basic. You can’t keep a sanitary environment with one.”
