TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The Angels Outreach program was out in full force in the community Thursday, helping families in need and honoring our military heroes.
Volunteers spent time serving hot Thanksgiving meals to disabled veterans at Commons at Garden Lake in Toledo. At least 75 veterans were fed as part of the volunteering Thursday.
Organizers and volunteers said it meant a lot to give back to their military brothers and sisters.
“It’s hard to explain. Because I can’t imagine being in their shoes. Being disabled and whatever their story is and whatever’s happened, but it’s awesome,” Rier Smith, an Angels Outreach member and veteran said.
This is the Angels Outreach program’s 29th year of serving the community.
