13WMAZ’s own Lori Johnson presented Ms. Irving with a “Trailblazer Award,” recognizing her groundbreaking achievements as the first-ever Black TV host in central GA.
MACON, Ga. — On Saturday, folks gathered at Mill Hill Community Arts Center for a panel discussion, empowerment brunch and ceremony honoring Angel Irving, the first-ever Black TV host on Central Georgia television.
The brunch was named “Navigating to Your Next Level” and was hosted by Beyond Now Coaching and Ruth Hartley Mosley Memorial Women’s Center.
“I am ecstatic to be partnering with the esteemed Ruth Hartley Mosley Memorial Women’s Center for this event which aims to foster connection, inspiration, and growth within our community,” said Beyond Now Coaching’s founder and CEO, Brittney Brisco.
The panel discussion had lots of guests, including:
- Georgia Supreme Court Justice Verda Colvin
- Akilah Griffin, VP of Talent Acquisition, Advocate Health – Georgia
- Dr. Ken Blair, Director of Strategic Initiatives, Wesleyan College
- Crystal S. Daye, Author, Coach, & Empowerment Speaker from Kingston, Jamaica
- Lori Smith, Retired Federal Contracting Officer
