Members of the Alaska Black Caucus and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church are inviting folks in Anchorage out for an important event.

This year’s Get Out the Vote Gospel Fest is happening at the church on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Churches, organizations, and community leaders are uniting to promote voting and civic engagement with music, speakers, and conversations on how you can make a difference with the power of your vote.

“It matters that they have something to say, and in a democracy, your vote is where you get to say it. So we get to hire and fire some people at every election, and their voice around that is important for our community,” explained Voter Engagement Coordinator Theresa Lyons.

The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Anchorage.
